MindSpec Hosts Preview of Autism Reading Room, an Online Resource to Enhance Public Understanding of Autism Research

The nonprofit research organization MindSpec (www.mindspec.org), proudly announces a preview of its new science outreach website, Autism Reading Room.  Anticipated public release is spring 2012

Designed to empower affected families with knowledge, Autism Reading Room explains cutting edge scientific research about autism spectrum disorders to a general audience.  All writers/editors are current or former biomedical scientists, with in-depth understanding of the latest autism research.

Highlights include:

  • Autism Quiz, also available as a free app for iPhone or iPad
  • Guide to autism news stories
  • Autism Profile, ranging from infancy to adulthood
  • Genetic and environmental risk factors
  • Diagnosis tests and strategies
  • Scientific advances in autism treatment
  • Trends in autism research
  • Interactive tools such as Autism Dictionary and Public Policy Forum
