This November New York City welcomes the first “Venezuelans in New York City Festival”, a reunion hosted by the “Centro de Directores para el NuevoTeatro”, Ishow NY Productions, NewLatinScene Theater Project, Fractal Studio, and Aurea Concept with the support of the Repertorio Español, Goya, Palo de Agua Producciones, and The Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute. This initiative opens a huge door for Venezuelan artists who reside in and out of the Big Apple, and we wish to repeat it annually, making it a common space for artists, creators and everyone interested in Venezuelan talent, to share and meet at least
once a year. This is not the first time that the “Centro de Directores” produces and hosts an event like this one, since 1996 it has been promoting Venezuelan theatre all around the World. Their productions include three “Venezuelan playwrights in New York” festivals, and two in Paris, added to more than 92 shows produced in the last 24 years since the foundation was created by master Carlos Giménez, mentor of the well-known theatre group “Rajatabla”.
For two weeks, with a really mixed calendar and events every single day, Venezuelan art will take over New York City with multiple events like staged readings, plays, live music, visual arts and much more. We hope this is the beginning of a whole new chapter for Venezuelan artists in NYC, a chapter of mutual support, unity, hard work and, of course, a lot of success. We welcome you to this adventure, the first edition of the Venezuelans in New York City Festival, and we thank you for being by our side.
Without further ado, this is the time to put Venezuelans UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT in New York City.
Este Noviembre la ciudad de Nueva York recibe al primer Festival de Venezolanos en New York City, organizado por El Centro de Directores para el Nuevo Teatro, Ishow NY Productions, NewLatinScene Theater Project, Fractal Studio y Aurea Concept, con el apoyo del Repertorio Español, Goya, Palo de Agua Producciones y The Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute. Esta iniciativa abre una importante puerta para los artistas venezolanos residenciados o no en la gran manzana, y nuestro deseo es que la experiencia se repita anualmente, convirtiéndose en cita obligatoria para todos los que estén interesados en conocer el talento venezolano.
No es la primera vez que el Centro de Directores produce un evento de esta naturaleza, desde 1996 ha venido dando a conocer el teatro venezolano alrededor del mundo. Con 3 Festivales de Dramaturgos Venezolanos en Nueva York y 2 en París, sumado a las 92 espectáculos producidos a lo largo de estos 24 años
desde su creación por parte del maestro Carlos Giménez, mentor también de la
conocida agrupación teatral “Rajatabla”.
Durante dos semanas, y con un calendario bastante variado y con eventos diarios,
todo el arte venezolano tomará la ciudad de Nueva York con una serie de eventos
que van desde lecturas escenificadas, espectáculos teatrales, agrupaciones musicales, artes visuales y mucho más. Esperamos que este sea el inicio de una
etapa totalmente nueva para los artistas Venezolanos en la ciudad de Nueva York;
una etapa de apoyo mutuo, unidad, trabajo duro y, por supuesto, de muchísimo
éxito. Les damos la bienvenida a esta aventura, la primera edición del Festival
de Venezolanos en New York City, y les agradecemos por acompañarnos.
Sin más preámbulos, este es el momento de colocar a los Venezolanos bajo los reflectores en la Ciudad de Nueva York.
